My name is Dr. Nicola Schmitz, and I’m the founder of Alter Health — a space where science meets soul, and modern diagnostics align with nature’s healing intelligence.

Born and raised in Germany, I carry within me the structured clarity of my German roots — but also the quiet strength and deep connection to nature passed down from my mother, who is ethnically Chinese and grew up in Indonesia. This blend of cultures shaped me early on: an instinctive love for people, animals, and plants, and a deep respect for the rhythms of life.

For many years, I worked as a specialist orthodontist with my own practice. I was grounded in conventional medicine, science, and structure. But then, life shifted. A personal tragedy within my family shattered my certainty and sent me searching — not just for answers, but for healing on a deeper level.

This journey led me beyond the boundaries of traditional medicine. I immersed myself in holistic practices, natural medicine, and the emerging science of epigenetics. Eventually, I became a certified Epigenetic Health Coach, combining the best of both worlds: the precision and knowledge of conventional diagnostics with the transformative power of natural and functional medicine.

This synergy has become the heart of my work. I now support people around the world through online programs and 1:1 guidance, offering practical, science-backed strategies for self-healing — always infused with compassion, presence, and deep care.
